Sometimes you just need someone who gets it, someone who can listen without judgment, help you see things clearly, and hold space for your emotions, experiences, faith, and culture, all at once.

Hi, I'm Maryam. I hold a Master’s in the Psychology of Mental Health from the University of Edinburgh, and have spent over a decade working in corporate life, so I understand the pressure, burnout, and expectations that often sit behind a calm face.

My work with UNBURDEN brings together psychology, reflective listening, and spiritual awareness to help people slow down, feel seen, and reconnect to themselves. I’m not a therapist, just someone who listens deeply, holds space with care, and helps you remember your own clarity.

I hope to offer a calm, confidential, and judgment-free space for parents, young adults, couples, or anyone who just needs to pause and be understood.

In a time when so many are struggling, with mental health, finances, or direction, my intention is to make support feel accessible, safe, and human.

What sessions feel like

Arrival

We start slow. No pressure to perform or have tidy answers. Just you, as you are.

Exploration

You share what’s heavy. I reflect, ask gentle questions, and we connect dots together.

Grounding

We close with calm: a simple reframe, next step, or grounding practice you can take with you.

How it works

  • A few gentle questions so I can support you well.

  • Talk, breathe, reflect, and find clarity together. The sessions are:

    • Online (Zoom)

    • Available weekly: limited slots

    • Languages: English (+ warm and human)

  • A short check‑in message in the days after.

  • Sessions are pay-what-you-can (up to USD 125). If you can’t contribute right now, that’s completely okay, you’ll receive the same care and attention either way.

  • No. It’s a supportive, reflective conversation. Many people find it complements therapy or coaching, or helps them take a first step.

  • It’s pay‑what‑you‑can (up to USD 125). If you can’t contribute right now, that’s completely okay, you can always pay it forward in the future!

  • Online via Zoom or by phone. In‑person may be possible by request and depending on where you’re based.

  • Limited weekly slots. If I’m fully booked, I’ll offer a waitlist or suggest other resources.
